Vanessa Ashcroft – an accomplished Australian artist
Vanessa is the Director of both ART GALLERY on Darling in Balmain and ART GALLERY on Palm Beach. Both galleries are artist-run initiatives. With over 25 years in the art world and representation in galleries, solo and group shows. Selling over the years to Singapore, UK, Canada, New Zealand and Amsterdam.
Working from her Patonga studio on the Hawkesbury River, Vanessa’s work is diverse as she works on solo shows and art prizes – being a finalist in the prestigious Paddington Art Prize, Gosford Art Prize and Blacktown Art Prize to name but a few.
Vanessa is passionate about ‘giving back’ and uses her art as a way of donating to important causes close to her heart.
Artwork
Figurative, Landscape, the ordinary and the not so ordinary are brought to life on canvas to challenge and engage the spectator. Vanessa is forever pushing the comfort zone of her work to create exciting and new works. Working with resin, painting on wood, mixed media on paper and canvas, oil sticks and charcoal all combine to make art fresh and new.
Exhibitions
Vanessa is a Resident Artist at ART GALLERY on Darling and her work is represented at all times in the Gallery in Balmain. With Solo and Group shows there is always new work to view, meet the artist and enjoy Opening Night Drinks with Vanessa and the other Artist of the ART GALLERY on Darling Group.
